Lovely walk in the forest yesterday...

Selfie taken with timer on phone
It felt like spring. For the first time in 2015, I was outside and I was WARM!!!  Heck it's about 6 or 7C and I'm wearing no hat, no mitts, and my coat is open, no scarf. I walked like this with open coat no hat. Usually I wait till about 12 to be able to do it. But it was so consistently cold this winter, that anything above 0 seems warm.

Awesome week-end

Wonderful week-end spend in the company of my friends from Kingsbury. I generally have a great time when I spend it with them and this time was no exception. We wandered around several thrift shops, where I found some more silk scarves. We found some cool lingerie that fit my friend.

It sucks that clothes made for more voluptuous women assume they want to hide their curves. Sometimes a voluptuous woman wants to show off her beautiful assets and it sucks that no one seems to cater to that.  I tend to like mideval clothing on rubinesque women because it is made to make them look pretty as opposed to hiding them under tents or very conservative clothing.

We also went for a walk in Bois de Liesse with husky, who just had a blast. She got to meet a whole bunch of friendly dogs, along our walk, and I will do fine having my own husky when I move to Cape Breton.

My friend also made some awesome jerk. I found it perfect but it was a bit hot for some of those who ate it. My friend was not impressed, and found it a fail, but I loved it. Having 3 lunches with it this week. YUMMY!

Walked through the Forest

Last Monday in January

It is snowing like crazy today. Will be a great day to go walk in the woods. Will be so quiet and peaceful. Always is right after a new snowfall, and everything gets muffled. Love the quiet of winter and walking in the woods.

In Bois de Liesse today...

We walked yesterday from my house to Mourelatos and back. It is a 2.8km round trip. Considering the windshield factor it was cold going, but much warmer coming back.

It was beautiful but frigid.

So far this week I've walked  Monday, Tuesday and today about 25-30 minutes a piece.  It was -25 on Tuesday but there was no wind, it was -19 today but with the wind it felt colder.   Doesn't it look pretty, this photo was taken just around 3 pm where the sun is really low at this time of the year.

So far between my walking in the woods almost daily and my Vitamin C cubes I have been able to stay healthy. The less I cough, the less I risk throwing out my back.

Ah the grey days of January

I've been wanting to cry the past week. Excess emotion I guess.  It's also one of my biggest fears after months without sex, that if I have some I will burst into tears, during or after sex.   This fear is not as bad as when I went celibate for 2 years, between October 2003 till late 2005.  I could not be intimate with anyone because of how raw my emotions were.

It seems my emotions are still raw. But at least I haven't burst into tears at the wrong moment. I've been watching NCIS again from the beginning and many episodes make me cry and this is a good thing.  I miss my weekly chick shows this fall.  I was watching Private practice and Army wives and that got out my crying most weeks.  But both shows are off the air.

It sucks when my emotions are so raw that it ruins any possible intimacy with anyone,  and makes me run away screaming. Thankfully this is not currently the case.

It's been interesting too, I've been in therapy for 3 years. I don't see therapist that often, about every 4 weeks. Not much point in seeing him more often because it takes a long time for me to process my emotions despite emotions just bubbling out and being so incredibly moody.

I seem to be doing better at identifying how I'm feeling, and overall feeling less frustrated, less anxious and less depressed, but I still get moments where I feel so incredibly depressed.  I know winter is hard on me, not enough time spent outside in nature and not enough sunlight.  Its not helpful either, when you wake up it's dark and you leave work it's dark.

I need to start doing my daily walks in the forest. I went Thursday for 30 minutes, and it was very peaceful. I always feel better after being in the woods.

After the departure of the snow in Bois de Liesse

Great crested flycatcher?

The pink line is where I walk to and then back to work.

Moss nice and green despite snow just melted

A pair of Black-capped Chicadees

Good site for bird identification

Most of the birds I run into around the woods, or around my house can be found here.  It helped me figure out the difference between the black-capped Chickadee and the white-breasted nuthatch.

Misidentified

Last week when I put up photos of the birds in Bois de Liesse, I had originally thought that a white-breasted nuthatch was a black-capped chickadee.  I've put photos of them side by side, they are different. What is amusing is that after mislabelling that bird, the only birds I have run across since have been black-capped chickadees :)

Black capped Chickadees

This feller flew around me a few times before settling near me in the ground. These are the closest bird photo's I've taken since I've been walking along the creek in Bois de Liesse.

Bois de Liesse

Now I remember why I don't hang out much in that park.

Because the park keepers tend to be assholes. I lived 3 years on the edge of the park and sometimes I'd walk home through the park [could save a fair amount of time] but if it was past 11 pm and the park keepers saw me I'd get chased out because the park is closed from 11pm to 6am

Today I was told off for walking next to the ski trail. I wasn't actually walking in the trails that the skis made but next to it. I wasn't destroying the trails but I got told I wasn't allowed to walk there.

THERE ARE NO FUCKING SIGNS THAT SAYS YOU CANNOT WALK ON THE SKI TRAILS.

It ruined by walk, and the asshole was chain smoking.

Woodpecker

Walked in the forest and saw a woodpecker today. Despite taking half a dozen pictures I did not manage to get a really good one. This is the best.
