Accidental shooting of innocent bystander

There was the shooting of an innocent bystander yesterday in Montreal. There's been too many in the past few years and the fact the QPP investigates the Montreal police force shootings and vice versa if nothing else appears to the outside like a blue wall. Like one agency covers the ass of the other.  It would be better if it was a civilian board that was investigating police shootings.

So there was a protest held tonight over the excessive amount of shootings by police officers, or at least perceived violence. An anti police brutality march. Except that a portion of the morons who marched also damaged store fronts by throwing things into them. How does one except to be taken seriously if you act like a bunch of hoodlums.

I was saying yesterday to hubby that in my youth I used to go to protests for things I believed in. I stopped at some point when there was always a violent component at protests who would spark violence and antagonize the police who are there to assure safety. Once one rock is thrown the mood changes. That sucks.

I don't want to be associated with those to resort to violence. Some suggest the government or police send out those agitators to show "see there is no such thing as peaceful protests", others suggest those who have a penchant for this type of thing will seek out a large gathering of people to be able to deface store fronts and loot with minimal risk of being caught.

Violence accomplishes little. Generally it breeds more violence.
