I was supposed to go back to work yesterday, but I couldn't get myself out of the house. Today though I'm aiming to be at work for 9ish. I have zero interest. I could use another 2 weeks of vacation and even then...
However I'm going to be a good girl and get my ass into a bath and get ready for work. I'm so not feeling it. Especially since it's -18C right now. BRRRRRR.

Lousy fucking vacation with rain
It rained most of this week of vacation. I mean it rained last Sunday because of Irene, it rained a bit Monday morning before we left for Frontenac. It rained Tuesday around lunch time and then Tuesday night. Don't remember rain Wednesday but there was some Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Sunday and Monday.
Other then the fact my plans got screwed and I feel horrible. I have work this morning and have 3 new stagieres starting and I just want to crawl under a rock, I don't want to go to work. I just want to call in sick. How am I going to fake a smile and be nice when I feel horrible and miserable?

More vacation bad luck
Here's another amusing anecdote. I took a week off in mid June, I was hoping to spend time on my garden. As it happened, it was the week my neighbour chose to build the fence between our properties. So much for peace working in the garden. I couldn't go out there without bumping into my neighbour either and the ensuing conversation.
Once I was back at work, he also seemed to be working elsewhere then on his property. I just took the last week off, and he's been back working on building his fence!!! Do I have to discuss the days I take off with my neighbours too so I can get a bit of quiet during my vacation? I was gone at least 3 of the days, but I was expecting to be away 2 more days, and spending time around Montreal but no... I was feeling too miserable I got to spend it at home trying not to hear the noise my neighbours make.
I mean what are the odds that he would work on his fence one week in the middle of June and then another week straddling August and September to coincide with MY time off? Like wtf?

One week vacation is too short!
I didn't do much other then weed some of my flower beds and do some laundry. I spent most of my week off doing nothing. It's funny I'm nearing 50 and I always feel guilty when I do nothing. I figure I should be doing something more important. There's always something important to do and when I do nothing I feel guilty.
Funny thing about growing up Catholic - even if you drop it at some point in your life, the guilt remains. It's so easy for people to play with that guilt and make me feel less then nothing just with a little guilt. One thing I don't feel guilty about is that I did get some rest. I feel well-rested, but one week isn't enough.
Well I did finish a few pastels including one done all yesterday. I like it a lot - called Syria's Spotty Future. Sadly it remains that spotty after Assad's speech which had nothing new to say. I mean the fact he was calling for refuges to come back home, that the army was there to protect them. Some refuges in Turkey are saying "Go home so they can finish us off". Sadly that's how much credibility Bashar Al Assad has nowadays. His own people are seeing him as a butcher.
We still have no mail and it's becoming a HUGE PITA for me as I have to find all my bills and take them to the bank. The only one I can't do that with is my dentist bill. Not sure how I'm going to pay it. Drive the cheque over? Gonna have to figure it out.
