I fell asleep around 9ish last night and was fine till about 3ish this morning. This is where my bowels decided it wanted to expel just about everything it was harbouring, in a highly liquefied form. Though I managed to sleep with a hot water bottle, to a gurgling belly, I woke up feeling wet and nasty.
I have to say this is a positively shitty way to start my 52nd year and this is probably more then you wanted to know about me today. but fuck really? Another bout? Making it the 4th time since I been back from Toronto that I have to fucking run to the goddamn toilet?
Figures of course that I had brand new sheets and these are whitish with snowflakes. They are now soaking in the washing machine.
I won't be shopping. In fact I'll probably be sitting very close to one of my 3 toilets today. Me and my shitty sense of humour :P

Strawberry extract
Until the mid to late 1990's I could count on Dr Fowlers Wild Strawberry Extract to take care of my tummy aches as well as random bouts of diarrhea.
Sadly in the mid to late 1990's Dr Fowlers stopped making their wild strawberry extract, and I remember asking my Pharmacy to look into it. They now make this pink chemical product that I would not touch with a 10 foot pole.
Meanwhile Jean Coutu and Pharmaprix had either a generic Strawberry Extract or a home brand. Recently I found that neither store is carrying it anymore. I know I'm not the only one looking for it as when I asked the Pharmacist at Jean-Coutu, she told me she had 4 other people looking for some as well. It appears Jean-Coutu discontinued the product. I dunno about Pharmaprix.
Doing some Googling apparently I'm not hte only one who is devastated by the fact it's become increasingly hard to find Strawberry extract. Some of the threads in various forums that I found about it, are all about how sad people are to see this product go. For some people with IBS it was a god send. I know that it tends to resolve 90% of my tummy issues, and has zero side effects with me.
Through more Googling, I found recently that Rougier has a strawberry extract that is available for sale on Well.ca I will be ordered numerous bottles to cover my trips this summer.
I went to both Healthtree and Tau health food stores and neither carry Strawberry extract despite having lots of herbal medicinal products. The woman at Healthtree asked me if I had heard about it on dr Oz.because I was the 5th person to ask for it in so many days.

Comme to think of it
This virus started Wednesday. I remember falling asleep between 9-10 pm. I fell asleep really early which surprised Debbie, since she figured she'd hang out with me when she came back from Peel. It was not even 11pm and I was fast asleep. THursday I remember having what I think were cluster headaches. Some parts of my head would pound. Then Friday it was a migraine. By the time I got home everything was too bright. And the tummy ache came out once I had a nap Friday night and then woke up to the tummy ache, but the head ache was gone.
Either way it sucked and it still sucks because the tummy still hurts and I find the office too bright still. Those NEONS are doing nothing to make me feel better. ARGH.

Pain in the stomach
Not sure what hit me but I've been mostly bed ridden with the mother of all stomach aches. Felt like someone was trampling my innards. Been spending lots of time since Friday afternoon lying down and wrapping my stomach in layers of wool. It's been sucking the energy right out of me. Wasn't even able to leave the house to get groceries done. There's nothing to eat at home.
I've also been in so much pain I haven't bathed other then sponge bathing myself since Friday. The thought of immersing in water or having water drop on me just acerbated the stomach pains. It's truly amazing how debilitating stomach pains can be. This seems to be viral because my companion was complaining of similar pains and our diet while having some similarities, have a lot of disparities so it's not the food. I seem to be more susceptible to stomach viruses this year then anything else. This is the 2nd or 3rd one that has me miss at least a day of work. One earlier this spring had me miss a whole week.
