American Eagle Artist jeans actually fit me properly!

I realized this week-end that there is one style of American Eagle Outfitter jeans that fit me well, even around the thighs. They are the artist jeans. My other pairs were so big it was hard to tell, but a few weeks back I found a pair of Artist size 0 jeans at value village, and those fit almost as well as the Silver Jeans the Tuesday fit.  I wonder if they make shorts in the artist type..

New bikini...

I was looking on American Eagle Outfitters website to see if it was worth going to a store to try on some bathing suits and spotted this little number in a colour they call sugar palm. It was only available online, and was reduced in price. So I took a leap of faith. I have to thank the woman in the review who says that normally AOE are true to size, but this one was too small in small. I ordered both in Medium and the fit is perfect. I agree with the woman, it is made very small.

Not only does it fit perfectly, and so much better then last years bikini, but matches a dragonfly wrap I picked up at value village a few months back. So pining for summer at this point.  I want it to be warm enough to be comfortable wearing just the bikini, or with the see through wrap around it :)

I love and HATE shopping at the same time

I do enjoy walking through endless stores filled with fashions to get an idea of what's  fashionable. After which I much prefer making my own clothes. Honestly this past 6 months of sewing has been so rewarding.

If I realize that I sew far more prolifically then I can reasonably benefit, I'm going to look into programs that donate clothes to poor children.  I love making children's clothes, I love shopping for fabric. I can make pretty dresses. Every little girl who likes dresses deserves a pretty little dress. I am well aware not all girls like dresses, and I respect that.  I also like making oshkosh type overalls, with cute animal appliques and turtlenecks for both genders.

I went to Carrefour laval today, was there maybe an hour and a half. I targeted Maison Simon, looked briefly at the sweaters, I would like to replace one of my long sweaters, but these days they are all wrap around sweaters and I find buttonless sweaters useless.

I went straight to the tights section and found that they carried merino wool tights in 4 colours. oatmeal, light grey, dark grey and black.  I picked up a pair of black ones for my friend who was looking for some as well, and one dark grey and one oatmeal coloured for myself.  I was also hoping to find olive green tights, at least in cotton, but no such luck.  I did buy a pair of burgundy type colour in cotton.

I stopped at Hush Puppies, to see if I could find a new pair of dress black winter boots. I gave away almost all my winter footwear a few days ago along with a giant bag of clothes.  Had no luck. This one pair I liked were fine for fall/spring, and waterproof, but I want winter boots.

I stopped at Old Navy to check out the coats, mine is easily 3-4 years old. I had it already at Occupy Montreal in October 2011.  They had olive and black in this years model of my coat. Sadly the XS while fitting properly elsewhere did not give me the shoulder room that my current coat does. Was dissapointed to be honest as it felt very much like my current coat, which is hot, but not too hot and is perfect for fall, spring, warmer winter days and driving.  Also would prefer to get a reddish coloured coat. Will look after Christmas, I might luck out.

Then I went to American Eagle Outfitters and picked up a pair of jeans. I need to go through what I have of jeans and get rid of lots of pairs. Especially pairs smaller then size 2, that haven't fit in a while.

So tally, I got 3 pairs of tights and 1 pair of jeans. Things I'm not likely to make myself.

On an unrelated topic, I was told I am intoxicating by my fwb, that I met back September 15th on POF.  I'm thinking that's a good thing, seeing that I like his company very much.

Nothing is permanent but change

No Ottawa for us this week-end.  I didn't even go out tonight, was too tired after going to Carrefour Laval after work. Didn't buy much. Got a tshirt in liquidation at AEO to go with my floral turquoise pants.

I was hoping to get a bohemian cotton sweater in a blue/turquoise shade that would match the pants but neither available style had a colour that really matched. So I decided to get myself a 2nd off-white one. The original one I bought last winter, I've worn a lot and I originally bought it to prevent myself from burning in the sun while driving. In off-white so the sun is least hot.

At Mira River Provincial park in my bohemian knit sweater
I also went to Costco in Laval. I find that one far less stressful then the one in Pointe-Claire  It is easy to go there leaving from Carrefour Laval.

mId winter bleahs

Been feeling like crap for a few days. Could be worse I could have the flu that is going around.   I just feel crappy. I know it  will pass . But it's been making it hard to interview and find motivation at work.

I'm trying to decide if I want to get Lasik surgery as well. My daughter is very pleased with results, and I can still read without glasses, so at least I could get away with driving and spending most time without glasses until I need reading glasses regularly.

It's funny when I was telling someone I was feeling bleah yesterday they suggested I go shopping for clothes. It's what I did Sunday. Spent 3 hours at Carrefour Laval. Went to La Maison Simons, bought pink tights for $2.99 in liquidation. Went to Old Navy picked up funky teal floral print rockstar Jeans, 2 tank tops and a long sleeved hemley for $25 with taxes. Also picked up "Artist" jeans and a dress at American Eagle Outfitters. Then went to Aerie and got a bathing suit. One of the Brooke ones, in a red shade though almost bought a teal one.  Was in a teal mood yesterday.

Mystery of life

After I came back from canoe-camping with my eldest daughter I had noticed my AE shorts with the lace were missing and my black Aerie bra was missing.  Today I also found my green cotton lace cami is missing. All 3 were items I took canoe-camping at Lac Temiscouata. My daughter assures me they did not find their way to Halifax.

So
1) My clothes decided to just vanish *poof*
2) Someone went through our tent while we were out one of the 3 days, and took my clothes
3) It's hiding somewhere in my truck
4) My daughter might find it at some point in her things [Highly unlikely]

For the record I've already replaced the black bra and the shorts. I've just realized I'm missing the army green cotton cami today and pretty annoyed.

Excessive advertisement

I had signed up for American Eagle/Aerie emails to get information on sales and the like. Until recently I'd get emails about once a month.

I don't know if American's know that there is NO black Friday in Canada, and there is NO Thanksgiving in November in Canada. Well American Eagle/Aerie have been sending me each an email daily now for the past week to tell me about sales.

Today for some obscure reason, they started also to come in French. Just because I'm in Quebec DOES NOT MEAN I WANT STUFF IN FRENCH, especially since I was receiving them in English happily before.

So today I unsubscribed from both American Eagle and Aerie and I am never giving them again my email. If you are going to send me SPAM twice a day every day for a week, you will get axed.

Not only that but in their infinite wisdom they  had also started sending me emails for their 77kids as well. My "kids" don't wear kids clothes. More spam. Thankfully I unsubscribed from them 2 weeks ago. Otherwise this week would have been in triplicate daily for AE outfitters.

Here's a tip, when you FLOOD clients with advertising, they TUNE OUT.

Summer dresses Part II

Lacking inspiration and noticing that someone landed on this site looking for American Eagle Outfitters clothes, I decided I would also add photo's of the dresses I picked up there a couple of weeks ago

I love the pink and reds of the two first dresses. The third dress, a black number - a woman never has too many little black dresses, also has removable straps. I generally don't do strapless, but I like the fact I have the option to go either way.

You can thank blogger for the awesome layout of those photos.
