Passion of Photography

I was added to the group or joined it years ago, and in the past 6 months I've been getting pleasure posting 1 photo a day on the topic posted. I've followed the rules. Then 2 weeks ago, I can't find the group.

Since my ex husband's uncle is one of the moderators, I asked him what happened to the group, he said nothing. So a week later, I asked if I was blocked maybe. He said yes. Said moderator says I was posting too many photos on the wrong topic.

I was sick the week I was removed. I posted NOTHING the week I was removed.So the one thing that was giving me pleasure on Facebook is now gone. With  no recourse. Lovely eh?  And really what was the guy on?

I'm more upset than I should be, but I HATE HATE HATE being blamed for something I didn't do. It's not fair.

My dad would say life isn't fair. But I'm fed up of the unfairness.

So a giant FUCK YOU to the asshole who removed me for no reason.  Your loss. You won't see my photos anymore. 

So I tried to look on Facebook when the last time I posted to the group - but because I'm BLOCKED I can't search it.  So thankyou facebook from preventing me from defending myself. If I had access to the logs to show what I have posted, then I could prove I did nothing wrong.

Despite not having a tripod and still not being very good with manual mode, I'm very happy with these shots I took of the moon setting on Grand Lac Touladis.

It happens that I also take photos where she takes photos and it always amazes me the angles that she sees that I don't see. It helps she's got professional training, but she's also quite the artist.   This photo below is one of my favourites, it's along the Lachine Canal in Lachine or Lasalle, I confuse all the beautiful weeping willows along that shore of the Montreal island.

The super Moon

This is over exposed, though I like the result. Was reading this blog this morning to improve my shots of the moon with my new Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 lens.

My friend Nina's photography is being exposed at Studio Porte Bleu.  It's an interesting concept, her photos are among the artwork decorating the studio, which people can buy. It also serves as back drop to other forms of art.

My first digital Camera

My little SONY DSC-S70, that my dad gave me as a combo gift, as a get well gift after  hernia surgery December 13th 2000, my birthday on the 15th as well as Christmas  that year.  Although he went to get it with me in early December I did not play with the new camera until after the surgery. I figured it would keep me busy while being stuck at home convalescing not being able to do much.

I loved my little Sony camera, and it took a full year after I got my first SLR to use the SLR more then the older Sony. I had gotten excellent at taking photos with that camera even anticipating how slow the camera was, and how still I had to be to get non-blurry shots. Heck I could anticipate when my daughter would kick a soccer ball so I would get it just as the ball got in the air :)

I stopped dragging it around everywhere in 2012. A full twelve years after I got it. I still drag 2 cameras around but they are both dSLR's now.

Two things I love the most about digital cameras. One, you can take endless amount of shots, so you get at least one shot with good lighting and non blurry, and the 2nd you don't need to put film in.  Film was my nemesis.

This little camera was my first digital love. At 3.3Mp for 2000 it was an expensive kick-ass camera. Of course compared to either of my SLR's its nothing special now.

35mm Camera's of my past

Yashika Minister D >-< Praktica LTL-3 >-< Pentax K1000

I'm not sure if I've used both of my dad's 35mm camera's. The first one, the Yashika Minister D is pretty much as old as I am. This may well be the first 35mm camera I ever used.   I would think my dad had this camera when he arrived in Canada. The 2nd one is the Praktica LTL3. This one I remember using in my late teens, when going on trips with my parents. I think my dad picked it up in the mid 70's.  My dad would send me in places he could not longer access due to his muscular dystrophy. It was then that I was first told I had an eye for photography.I have a telephoto lens, which I'm guessing is for the Praktica. I also have a flash for it.

The third one, the Pentax K1000, was bought by my ex-husband as a good amateur photographer camera in the mid 1980;s. It is the quintessential 'student's camera'. It was produced for so many years and so many people had one.  I ended up with it a year after we split up because he realized he rarely ever took photos and if we both wanted photos of our daughters it was best if I had the camera. This was the camera I used until I got my first digital camera.  The only problem is that I CANNOT put film in a camera. The number of film I have destroyed just trying to get it in!!! And film was never cheap. Usually I'd ask my dad or ex-husband to put the film in. That way I'd be sure I would not fuck it up!

My first camera!

Was going through a trip down memory lane talking about camera equipment. I found that Camerapedia is very useful in helping you figure out how old your camera's are.

The very first camera I ever used, was a camera my mom bought probably while pregnant so she could take photos of me. It was the first camera I used, at 12, when I went to summer camp the first time. I was given a roll of 12 black and white, since film was still pretty expensive back then.  It's when I learned to be perfectly still. Sadly with age, I'm not as still as I once was, and have to make more frequent use of a tripod, especially for photography in less then well lit conditions. Monopods are nice and all but mine broke fairly quickly. I think I got to use it only 2 or 3 times.
