Other then a 10 minute power failure last night around 9pm and the sound of heavy wind outside, hurricane Sandy has been pretty tame for me in Montreal.
But I know the HMCS Moncton is out in the Atlantic with the 8 metre swells. After what happened to the HMS Bounty yesterday I am worried for my daughter, but no news is good news.
It's not over yet, the wild winds and rain are still going to affect us for a day or two.

Actually we are leaving this morning. We had manning issues and then they were afraid of the weather but I doubt it's better today - however our manning issues are resolved. Monday we just sailed around the basin to trial some machines and came back. Also my chipped tooth is no longer chipped ;) I took advantage of the fact we were still in Halifax to go to sick parade at dental at 0730 and by 0840 I was walking out of there with a full smile! :D Going to head down to the dockyard now and see what's up. I hope the swells aren't 8m high :X
ReplyDeletewent to dental yesterday that is+ :)
ReplyDeleteAh so the software I found that tells me your ship location is correct. It kept telling me you were still in the Halifax Harbour!
ReplyDeleteSweet, now I can track your travels :P
