This morning we met up with friends and left around 11:30. We took the 40 in direction of Ottawa. Then we turned and headed towards Gatineau, then towards the municipality of Lac Ste-Marie. We drove through Lac Ste Marie and then took a small gravel road to a parking lot and access to Lac des Bagnoles.
We put our canoe in water, put most of our camping equipment in it and paddled half of the lake to get to the passage to Lac des Roches, and then a quarter across that lake to get to the passage that brings us to Lac Vert. And yes Lac Vert is actually green. Nice shade of green.

HI Kali! Wondering if you could help us out. My hubby and I have camped around Lac Pemichamigan near Lac Vert, and would like to do Lac Vert next. thing is, we will be bringing our 6-month-old for the canoe camping trip with us. From the maps, it looks like a short portage from the north. Is this the route ou took? How was the protage? Any advice for the trip?

There are three ways into lac vert (two involve a portage and one 1 1 hour canoe trip)

at the end of this time lapse there is a little map with the different routes to get to lac vert!
It gets VERY busy there in the summer, especially on weekends... I tend to go on a sunday evening or monday to get a better choice of camp grounds.
A few sites are nice and flat, others are a bit steep.

Hi Tanya. If you park off Le Lac Des Bagnoles, you can get to Lac Vert without any portages by going through Lac des Roches. There is a short portage also but I've never done it
